If your WhatsApp message is not right, or if you want to rephrase the message after you’ve sent it, you have the option to delete the message for yourself and for everyone else too. But this feature is time-bound and the messaging only allows you to delete messages for around the next one hour after it is sent.

As per the new report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp users will soon have an increased time limit of 2 days and 12 hours to delete a text on the app. This feature has been spotted on the beta version of WhatsApp with version 2.22.15.8 for Android users, where the extended time for deleting a chat is being made available.

WhatsApp is planning on increasing the time limit to delete any text on chat from 1-hour-eight minutes and 16 seconds to two days. According to reports, this was the initial plan during the development of the ‘delete text’ feature on WhatsApp.

The company is also working on an ‘Undo’ button that will retrieve your deleted messages in the chat on WhatsApp. At present, the platform gives you two options for deleting the text: ‘Delete for me’ and ‘Delete for everyone. ‘Delete for me’ means the text is deleted from the chat for the person using the feature, ‘delete for everyone’ makes the text disappear for all in the chat.

The Meta-owned messaging platform has been busy integrating more features for its users in the past few months. It has massively upgraded the video call feature to let you have 32 people on the call at the same time. The host of that call now also has the power to message other people on the group privately, or even mute those who are creating a disturbance during the call.
