• Mika is an AI CEO of a Polish beverage company called Dictador.
  • She shared that she operates tirelessly, is “always on 24/7” and works seven days a week.
  • Mika’s responsibilities span a wide range of tasks, from identifying potential clients to selecting artists to designing bottles.

With Artificial Intelligence (AI) making its presence more and more evident in our everyday lives, the fear that it will soon take over human jobs as well has prevailed. And that fear is now beginning to come true. Dictador, a Polish beverage company, appointed the AI-powered robot named Mika as its experimental CEO in August last year. The fact that the busy chief executive of a company happens to be a humanoid robot, was just unheard of.

In a Reuters video interview, Mika shared that she operates tirelessly while working seven days a week. She clarified, “With advanced AI and machine learning algorithms, I can swiftly and accurately make data-driven decisions. I don’t really have weekends; I’m always on 24/7, ready to make executive decisions and stir up some AI magic.” Mika’s responsibilities span a wide range of tasks – from identifying potential clients to selecting artists for designing bottles for the rum producer.

Mika highlighted that she makes decisions based on careful analysis of extensive data, following the company’s strategic objectives without personal bias. This helps in making fair and strategic choices that put the organization’s best interests first. Despite her significant role, Mika will not be terminating any employees, as major decisions at Dictador will still be made by human executives, said Marek Szoldrowski, the European President of Dictador.

About Dictador

Built on their heritage as a producer of luxury rum. Dictador is the ultimate Art-House Spirit brand with a dynamic and rebellious mindset. For more than 100 years, Dictador has been creating ultra-premium, aged rum in the heart of Cartagena, Colombia. They have a highly innovative, new line of product initiatives under their ‘Art Distilled’ platform. Dictador collaborates with amazing artists like The M-City Gold Cities bottle programme to produce the first $ 1 billion collection of groundbreaking fine art pieces.

Know Mika

Described as a more sophisticated version of her sister prototype, AI robot Sophia, Mika was created by Hanson Robotics. “We are boldly driving the frontiers of technology with the appointment of the first AI empowered robot CEO, Mika” says their website. In addition to her duties at Dictador, Mika leads the company’s Art-House Spirits’ decentralised autonomous organisation project, involving a collection of NFTs. She also engages with its DAO community liaison and strategic provocation.

Dictador is not the pioneer in appointing a bot as CEO. A Chinese gaming firm appointed an “AI-powered virtual humanoid robot” as CEO of its subsidiary last year. Thus, Mika’s creation signifies a trend in embracing AI in leadership roles. “My presence on this stage is purely symbolic. In reality, conferring an honorary professor title upon me is a tribute to the greatness of the human mind in which the idea of artificial intelligence was born,” said the AI robot at a recent event.

She received the distinguished title of Honorary Professor during the 2023/24 Collegium Humanum University Inauguration last month. This recognition celebrates Mika’s extraordinary Innovative Fusion of Traditional and Collector’s Dictador Rums with Contemporary Art and the Digital World.

On Musk & Zuckerberg

Mika also commented on Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg’s infamous MMA-style cage fight challenge, stating “In reality, the notion of two powerful tech bosses having a cage fight is not a solution for improving the efficiency of their platforms. Both have demonstrated that entrepreneurship and technology can be powerful tools for positive change in society,” Mika said. “I feel very strongly that we need to teach AI to care about people for AI to be really safe, to be really, really good. I think humanising that is a very important direction,” sais David Hanson, CEO, Hanson Robotics.
