Ye, formerly Kanye West, presented his new release ‘Vultures 2’ at a listening event in Arizona on March 10, 2024. However, North West, the 10-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Ye, had some other plans in hand. After making a memorable appearance at her father’s ‘Vultures 2’ album listening event over the weekend, she announced that she is set to launch her debut album. The young talent not only left an impression at the Phoenix show but also left the crowd roaring with her announcement of her new album, “Elementary School Dropout.”

Elementary School Dropout

A homage to her father’s 2004 release “The College Dropout,” this debut album is certainly not her first music project. “Talking,” a track featured in Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Vultures 1,’ marked North West’s entry into the world of rap. In the track, the eldest child of Ye and Kim Kardashian reintroduced herself as “Miss Westie.” Her lyrics, which included lines like “It’s your bestie, Miss, Miss Westie, Don’t try to test me; it’s gonna get messy. Just, just bless me,” showcased her confident debut in the genre. Not just that, this rap also earned her a treasured spot on Billboard’s Hot 100.

With everything going on between the Kardashian queen and Ye, people are drowning in questions and giving the controversial spark a fire. While some netizens are concerned about the 10-year-old’s life, others are in splits about Kim’s reaction.

North’s Debut Has Left Social Media in Splits

If rumours hold true, Kim Kardashian was notably absent from the concert, and as of now, there has been no official statement from her regarding North’s revelation. Nevertheless, during a previous milestone when Kardashian celebrated North’s success with “Talking,” she took to Instagram to express her joy, reposting the chart with the caption, “My baby!!!!” In the past, Kardashian has also publicly disclosed on Instagram Ye’s intention to withdraw their children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, from their current school. The debut title has hence left the netizens confused about North dropping out of elementary school.

Soon, the internet witnessed a social media debate on whether she was too young to be involved in such an album. Concerns were raised, particularly about the album’s title, seemingly a reference to Kanye’s 2004 debut, “The College Dropout.” On X, formerly Twitter, one user expressed, “I’m praying she didn’t actually drop out of elementary school.” Others also pointed out their views saying “This is a weird album title though. Why will a young girl of this age already dropping out of school, this can only be through bad parenting,” “You can do anything as long as you’re rich and famous,” “Hope it will not be a bad influence for kids to drop out of school,” and “Everyone wants to become an artist, even the talentless ones.” One user even criticised North, attributing her success to nepotism, stating, “We don’t really care, but it won’t flop because of nepotism” while the other questioned “Does Kim know about this?”

With all that, it is safe to say that the people of the internet don’t really keep their thoughts to themselves and rightly so in some cases. Whilst the whirlwind of hatred and concerns piled up, some positive comments were encouraging the 10-year-old artist on her new journey. Numerous individuals expressed their support for North, posting congratulatory messages on the platform. One supporter mentioned, “Coming to save pop music.” Another exclaimed, “Most anticipated album of the year.” A different user shared, “COMING FOR THAT YOUNGEST GRAMMY WINNER TITLE, OH IKTR!” Yet another stood in support, stating, “We will listen.”

What Next?

While we still don’t have access to the insider details on when we can expect the album “Elementary School Dropout” to be released, it is only common sense to assume that Ye will make a significant contribution to his daughter’s new music career. Although this is sure to create a rage considering the flood of concerns and negative comments, we are still secretly waiting for Kim to bring a storm to the internet with her response to Ye’s influence on North.
