According to the Pinterest Newsroom, the new update of Pinterest TV entering Canada offers a unique opportunity to highlight its video purchasing features before the Christmas season. The social media platform is aiming to increase its emphasis on live-stream shopping.
As explained by Pinterest:
“Pinterest is kicking-off ‘Shop the Holidays on Pinterest TV’ with 10 hours of daily programming running from November 15-18th in Canada and the US. Over sixty brands and four major North American publishers are taking part in the series, which will include over 40 hours of shoppable content.”
Participating companies include Wayfair, NUDESTIX, and JENNY BIRD. The actual programming will be divided into vertical categories with a special emphasis on gift-giving and holiday shopping.
‘Shop the Holidays’ Program Schedule
November 15th – Food and Festivities
Explore the first day of shoppable fun with The Bay, Fable, Apartment Therapy, and a six-hour stream created in partnership with Tastemade, which includes offers on independent food brands.
November 16th – Home and Decor
Unique Christmas suggestions, and a three-hour evening takeover with Wayfair that includes offers and carefully chosen design advice from Pinterest’s own Live Shopping hosts.
November 17th – Beauty and Fashion
With an extra-special gifting collection for users from the Allure Magazine editors, shop Nudestix, Jenny Bird, Theraface, and more.
November 18th – Gift Guides
It will be simple to choose the perfect present for all the users this year. They can watch, find handpicked ideas from The Kit and Glamour editors, and shop from independent Canadian products.
Since the platforms are now compelled to consider all available alternatives, direct shopping may offer a promising path for independent development.
Additionally, Pinterest is working on seasonal “gift guides” for the app in collaboration with a few selected publishing partners, which will give users more present ideas.
