It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The show was shot in the UK, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain. It premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and concluded on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes broadcast over eight seasons.

‘You’ is an American psychological thriller television series based on the book series by Caroline Kepnes. The first season, which is based on the novel You, premiered on Lifetime in September 2018 and follows Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love and develops an extreme obsession. As he obsesses over his lovers, he kills and continues the pattern in all the seasons. There are 3 seasons of the show so far.

Sacred Games

‘Sacred Games’ is an Indian crime thriller streaming television series based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same name. This web series was India’s first Netflix original series, it was made by Phantom Films. The novel was adapted by Varun Grover, Smita Singh, and Vasant Nath. Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) plays the lead protagonist role as a troubled police officer in Mumbai who receives a phone call from gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), who tells him to save the city within 25 days; the series chronicles the events which follow.

A Suitable Boy

‘A Suitable Boy is a BBC television drama miniseries which is directed by Mira Nair and adapted by Andrew Davies from Vikram Seth’s 1993 novel of the same name. The series is Set in post-independent India and follows four linked families in North India. The story revolves around Mrs. Rupa Mehra who is in search of a suitable husband for her youngest daughter Lata. Meanwhile, the daughter is torn between her duty toward her mother and the idea of romance with her suitors.

‘Stories by Rabindranath Tagore’ is a 2015 Indian Hindi television series that aired on the EPIC channel. It is directed by Anurag Basu. It is set in Bengal in the 1920s and the show is a representation of the classic short stories by the Bengali writer and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Confident women were the protagonists of his stories, strong in their stead while surviving in a conservative Indian society. Tagore’s stories were progressive and not the same as the fiction of his times.

Sherlock

‘Sherlock’ is a British mystery crime drama web series which is based on Sherlock Holmes detective stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and the main character is played by Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. It first aired in 2010 and went on till 2017- three seasons, thirteen episodes in total. The series is set in the present day, while the one-off special features a Victorian period fantasy resembling the original Holmes stories. Sherlock has been praised for the quality of its writing, acting, and directing. It has been nominated for numerous awards and won several awards across a variety of categories.

‘The Haunting of Hill House’ is an American supernatural horror drama web series produced by Amblin Television and Paramount Television for Netflix. It is loosely based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. The plot alternates between two timelines, following five adult siblings whose paranormal experiences at Hill House continue to haunt them in the present day, and flashbacks depicting events leading up to the eventful night in 1992 when the family fled from the mansion. The series premiered on Netflix on October 12, 2018. The Haunting of Hill House received critical acclaim, particularly for its acting, directing, and production values.
