You get to experiment with 12 exclusive augmented reality (AR) masks of the most popular characters from the play available on Portal. Not only that, you can even hang out with your friends in Hogwarts Great Hall, the Ministry of Magic, and Edge of the Forbidden Forest during video calls. Through Portal’s Photo Booth app, you can capture videos and share them too.

After initiating the Curtain Call, you can select any location from the three mentioned above. As stated by Facebook Newsroom, “When the lights come up, each person on the call will embody a character from the show with a unique spell, which is assigned randomly. Simply nod your head or tap the screen to cast it and watch as your friends marvel at the magic.”

Thanks to Facebook’s Spark AR, all the AR masks and experiences launched embodies real-time skin sampling. The 3D character matches your individual and unique skin tone and then it gets converted to AR masks. Facebook and Portal ensure it to be fully and seamlessly integrated. Quoting Facebook Newsroom, “this is one of the first times we’ve connected people’s AR experiences across screens in a collaborative, multi-participant environment, where everyone can experience the AR effects simultaneously.” If you’re already fascinated with it, then make sure to check out What You Need to Know About Facebook’s $ 1 Billion Investment in Creators.
