WhatsApp is working on reporting messages over the Desktop

As of now, you can only report the messages over your mobile, but now WhatsApp is working on its new feature. WhatsApp is working on new a feature to help users report messages. In reality, this feature has already been released after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android and WhatsApp beta for iOS updates last year, but it is still not available on Web/Desktop. Now the company is testing a “Report” option on the desktop client to release in a future update, as reported by WABetaInfo.

WhatsApp has also developed a feature that will let users add a caption for their shared documents before sending them, in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop.

As you can see in this screenshot by WABetaInfo, the “Report” feature will show up when viewing the message options in a future update of the desktop app, and it allows us to report a specific message. The same rules from WhatsApp for Android and iOS are applied when reporting a message: only the reported message is forwarded to the moderation team using the report message option. This is different than reporting a contact right within their chat info: in fact, the most recent 5 messages from the conversation are forwarded to WhatsApp when reporting the contact so the moderation team can understand the context better. Instead, thanks to the new report option, that’s already available on WhatsApp for Android and iOS, it will be easier to report only certain messages from the desktop client.
This feature is under development and it will be released in a future update of the WhatsApp Desktop beta.

WhatsApp keeps coming up with new features and updates to make lives easier for people and to keep it more privacy-friendly too. Do follow Social Nation for more social media updates.
