Jungkook Made The Record For Fastest 1 Billion On Spotify

The Korean Boy Band BTS is one of the most successful singing sensations of contemporary times. Known for delivering one hit after the other, BTS was propelled into stardom in 2015 after the release of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life. Recently, the band decided to take a break for their military service and solo careers but their individual records have still been impeccable. The latest record is that of Jungkook who has become the fastest K-pop solo star to reach 1 Billion Spotify streams.

The Fastest Billion Soloist

The Euphoria Singer, Jungkook takes on Spotify by achieving the fastest 1 billion Spotify streams by a K-pop star. He broke the record in only 409 days, all thanks to his famous songs including Stay Alive, Left and Right, and Dreamers. The previous record was held by Blackpink’s Lisa who earned her 1 billion Spotify streams in 411 days. 

The three songs that helped Jungkook earn the feat are much loved. His song Stay Alive was recorded in 2022 for the BTS-based webtoon, 7 Fates: Chakho. The song Left and Right signifies his first-ever collaboration with Charlie Puth, making it an instant hit. The song stood at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100 list. Dreamers was the official song for the FIFA World Cup, making Jungkook the first South Korean artist to prepare and perform a song at the FIFA World Cup. 

The Break

In December 2021, the BTS band announced their hiatus owing to the immense fandom they earned for themselves.  While some of the BTS members went ahead with their military service, which is an obligation for all able-bodied men in South Korea. On the other hand, some other band members such as Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook embarked on their soloist journeys.

Since the break, only Jungkook and V have not released their solo albums. Jungkook is expected to release an album anytime between October to December. While V is expected to release his solo album between July and September. The ARMY fans are eagerly waiting for their favourite performers to perform solo. However, the band phase is nowhere gone.

Record Breaker

Jungkook is known for his record-breaking success, both figuratively and literally. Jugkook joined BTS as a trainee when he was just 15 years old. He is known for his impressive vocal abilities, and equally impressive dance skills. He has also contributed to songwriting and has released solo tracks, such as “Euphoria” and “My Time,” which showcase his musical style.

Apart from this, seems like Jungkook is also good at something else. He is rather great at breaking records and has caused a dent in the music industry across the globe with this stellar talent. Only five months into 2023, he has already broken 20+ records.

Jungkook in his latest blue-hair live broadcast broke multiple records. His Live had 13.5 Million viewers, the biggest number in the VLIVE’s history. He also had the most number of comments here, with the toll going upto 10.2 million comments. Jungkook was also the first to reach 10 million live viewers at record-breaking speed of 32 minutes.

Jungkook is quite a craze on the social media platform twitter. He is the only celebrity to have 5 tweets with over 1 million retweets. Apart from Barack Obama and President Joe Biden, Jungkook is the only one to receive 3 million plus likes on a single tweet. 

Jungkook is the only individual who has a non-voting tweet receive more than 700K comments and he is also the first person to have 3 tweets with over 5,00,000 comments. 

Jungkook holds the record consecutively two times for the tweet to reach the 1 million retweet mark the fastest in 12 hours and 16 hours respectively. A tweet of his reached 1 million likes in just 46 minutes and another million within an hour. He holds the record for fastest 200K, 300K, 400K and 500K comments on his tweet.

Jungkook is the only individual hashtag that has over 36 billion views on the popular social media platform TikTok

Jungkook  also has a record breaking performance on the Billboard including the title of being the first ever  K-Pop idol to have a solo chart for a full Year on the Billboard World Digital song sales.
