Instagram has rolled out a new feature that empowers the ones that are specially-abled. Instagram has been working on a lot of features that aid the users and the creators in having a better experience on the app. They also keep testing and trying various updates and features fulfilling users’ demands.

About the new feature

Instagram is rolling out the new auto-generated captions for videos that will be posted on the platform. Users can now have captions for have the option to turn the auto-generated captions on or off for the Instagram feed videos. The feature simplifies the process for both creators as well as make Instagram more accessible for those in the deaf/hard-of-hearing communities.

Instagram’s Chief Adam Mosseri tweeted recently, “It’s a long time coming, but we’re excited to share a new tool that empowers those in the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. Videos on Instagram will now have auto-generated captions, where you have the option to turn them off or on.”

The auto-generated captions will be available in 17 languages with more languages to be added in future.

Earlier this week, Instagram shared updates related to its video strategy. Instagram had been quite efficient and full of surprises with its features and updates. Instagram launched Chronological orders for the feed to help the audience save time.

Instagram also came up with customized Link Stickers for Instagram stories, last year. From safety features like “Take a Break” to deleting a photo from carousel posts, Instagram looks after its users to a great extent.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri, said the new feature was “a long time coming”. The feature can be turned on or off according to their convenience. One can turn on the auto-generated captions by simply going to their advanced settings and then the “Show Captions” option.

The auto-generated captions was launched a day after Instagram announced that it is ending support for its standalone app for IGTV. Instagram said it will now focus on having all video on its main app and that it will continue to simplify and improve video in the main Instagram app over the coming months, it added. The company added, “Reels continues to be a growing and important part of Instagram and we are excited to invest even more in this format.”

Tentative updates to be seen soon

According to Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram will soon be launching a new chat theme: Lo-Fi. It is still working on this feature which seems very appealing and Lo-Fi being quite the trend in every aspect, this feature will be loved by all.
