Instagram introduced a new feature, ‘Sensitive Content Control’ on July 20, 2021. With this, you can now control the type of content you want to see, in terms of sensitivity. Previously, Instagram has instated features like turning off comments and restricting to make the platform a safer place. ‘Sensitive Content Control’ is another step in that direction and what better way than adjusting it just like how you want?

What falls under sensitive content? Well, Instagram Blog stated, “You can think of sensitive content as posts that don’t necessarily break our rules, but could potentially be upsetting to some people — such as posts that may be sexually suggestive or violent.” According to Instagram’s Community Guidelines, “hate speech, bullying, and other content that might present a risk of harm to people” are not allowed on Explore. So, this new feature is going to make sure that you’re satisfied with what you see on Instagram. Quoting Instagram Blog, “We recognize that everybody has different preferences for what they want to see on Explore, and this control will give people more choice over what they see.”
