From Study Tables to Diyas: Sakchi Jain on Finding Light Beyond Hustle

For years, Diwali for Sakchi Jain looked a little different. While the world lit diyas and played cards, she sat with her study notes, chasing another kind of light, the one that comes from dreams, discipline, and delayed celebration.

“As a CA student, Diwali always used to fall right in the middle of exams,” she recalls. “In 2022, I stayed in my room the entire day, only stepping out for an hour because my parents insisted. I remember telling them, ‘Let me skip this Diwali so that I can celebrate the next one without any stress.’”

And when that next Diwali arrived, it hit home, quite literally. “Lighting diyas with my family after years of missing out felt emotional,” she says softly. “It reminded me that sometimes, when you choose discipline over comfort, the joy that follows is worth every sacrifice.”

That single moment sums up Sakchi’s story, not just as a Chartered Accountant and creator, but as someone learning to find balance between hustle and happiness.

Between Balance Sheets and Balance in Life

Today, Sakchi juggles the dual worlds of finance and content – decoding money, habits, and mindful living for her audience. But come Diwali, she makes sure to step back from the screen.

“Honestly, it’s not easy,” she admits. “As a creator, you’re expected to be online all the time. But during Diwali, I try to enjoy it like I did as a kid, helping my mom decorate, sitting with family, meeting friends. Work will always be there. These moments won’t.”

Her understanding of the festival has evolved with her journey. “Earlier, Diwali was about dressing up, shopping, and all the excitement. I still love all of that,” she smiles, “but now it’s also about slowing down, being grateful, and celebrating meaningfully. It’s not about spending less it’s about spending on things and people that truly make you happy.”

A Diwali That Feels Like Home

For Sakchi, the real celebration begins at home. “We start with a small puja, and then head to my father’s shop where we’ve celebrated together since childhood. That tradition still makes Diwali feel complete,” she shares.

She laughs when asked about festive perfection. “I love dressing up and decorating, but I never stress about making everything look perfect. If something doesn’t go as planned, that’s okay. Diwali for me is about laughter, food, and family – not picture-perfect posts.”

That grounded energy is what shaped her community online – a rare mix of warmth, relatability, and financial wisdom. “When I started, I didn’t want to sound like a finance expert. I just wanted to explain things the way I would to a friend. Over time, that helped me connect with people who genuinely wanted to learn,” she says. “When someone tells me they finally understood something about money because of my video, that’s the best kind of reward.”

The Light That Waits for You

If there’s one thing Diwali has taught Sakchi, it’s patience, a quality that built both her career and her calm. “Light or success doesn’t come instantly,” she says. “You have to work for it, wait for it, and trust that it’ll come. I used to skip celebrations, telling myself I’d celebrate when I became a CA. And when that finally happened, that Diwali felt brighter than ever.”

As for her message to everyone this festive season? It’s as simple as it is beautiful:
“Celebrate this Diwali for what it really is not for the post or the reel, but for the people around you. Don’t rush to capture it. Live it first. The light you feel inside that’s the one that truly lasts.”

Because sometimes, the most meaningful glow isn’t from the diyas on your window – it’s from slowing down and realising how far you’ve come.
