Get ready to bid a final goodbye to YouTube Stories! The popular feature, inspired by Snapchat’s Stories, will be waving its final goodbye on 6/26/2023.
Remember when YouTube hopped on the Stories trend back in 2018? They wanted to give creators more ways to connect by offering a full-screen engagement option in story format. Which was all about embracing the trend and keeping the content flowing! But alas, as trends tend to do, the Stories format has now also reached its expiration date on YouTube.
It’s time for this feature to step aside and make room for new and innovative ways for creators to capture our attention. The digital landscape is ever-evolving, after all, and YouTube is ready to move with the times.
As per YouTube: “Today, there are many ways to create on YouTube – from Community posts to Shorts to long-form and Live. To prioritize these key features, Stories are going away. Starting on 6/26/2023 the option to create a new YouTube Story will no longer be available. Stories that are already life on that date will expire 7 days after they were originally shared.”
