It is a common eye infection that causes inflammation of the conjunctiva, the covering of the white part of the eye, and the inner surface of the eyelids.

What Is It

It can be caused by various factors, including viral which is also known as Eye Flu, bacterial, or allergic agents.

Causes

It is characterized by redness, itching, tearing or sticky discharge and a gritty sensation in the eyes.

Symptoms

It's happening due to sudden rain showers, flooding, contaminated water, and increased moisture in the air.

Why The Sudden Rise?

If infected, don't touch your eyes with your hands and wash your hands throughly and frequently.

Maintain Hygiene

Avoid taking public transport and dont share articles of clothing or towels with others.

Do Not Spread

Discard eye cosmetics (such as mascara and eyeliner) and use protective eyewear such as sunglasses.
