Smart displays are becoming more than digital clocks. They can help manage connected devices, play entertainment, answer questions and keep family routines organised. Apple has now entered the competition with HomeView, joining Amazon and Google in the smart-home display market.
Launched on October 13, 2026, Apple HomeView combines a 7-inch touchscreen, Siri AI, music, FaceTime and smart-home controls. It can recognise up to six household members and personalise supported content when paired with compatible Apple devices.
Amazon’s Echo Show range combines Alexa with a screen for voice commands, entertainment and connected-home controls. Depending on the model, users can stream content, view compatible security-camera feeds and make video calls.
Google Nest Hub brings a touchscreen together with Google Home controls, music, videos and photo displays. The second-generation model features a 7-inch screen and supports Matter-compatible smart-home devices.
HomeView is designed to work closely with iPhone, iPad and Apple Home. Echo Show centres on Alexa and Amazon’s services, while Nest Hub is built around Google Home.
All three options can act as control points for compatible smart-home devices, but support varies by product and setup.
HomeView offers FaceTime, Apple services and personalised content. Echo Show supports video and music services alongside Alexa features, while Nest Hub is a natural fit for Google Photos, YouTube and supported streaming services.
HomeView uses facial recognition to personalise supported features, with Apple highlighting secure processing. Amazon provides controls for microphones, cameras and voice recordings on compatible Echo devices. Google also provides device and account privacy controls.
Apple HomeView is listed at ₹39,900 in India. Amazon’s Echo Show 8 (4th Gen) is listed at ₹23,999, and Echo Show 11 at ₹26,999.
The Best Choice Depends On Your Home – Apple HomeView: Consider it if your household already uses Apple devices and wants personalised home controls. – Amazon Echo Show: Consider it if Alexa routines, compatible devices and a lower listed price are priorities. – Google Nest Hub: Consider it if Google Home, photo displays and Google’s entertainment services suit your routine.
