“The bird is freed”, tweeted Tesla founder, Elon Musk after taking over Twitter.

Elon Musk has officially taken control of Twitter after finalizing a $44 billion deal to buy the social media network.

It is not a joke that Elon Musk never fails to amaze the audience and public with his words and actions. Before taking over the platform, he entered the headquarters with a sink and posted a tweet ‘Let that sink in!’

“In one of his first decisions at the helm of the social media giant, Musk, the world’s richest man, fired three top executives including CEO Parag Agrawal, multiple United States-based media outlets reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.” wrote AlJazeera.

The billionaire shared a picture of himself socializing at a coffee bar at Twitter headquarters after the acquisition and updated his twitter bio as ‘Chief Twit’.

Musk said he realizes Twitter “cannot become a free-for-all hellscape where anything can be said with no consequences.”

“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence,” he added. It is anticipated that Musk will make it easier for former US president Donald Trump to rejoin the platform by reducing content monitoring to a bare minimum.

The founder of Tesla and SpaceX has plans for making this platform easy yet not free. As per a Moneycontrol report, Musk, who is chief executive at Tesla and SpaceX, has acquired Twitter through a mix of equity and debt financing. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Twitter will have to shell out more than $1 billion for annual interest payments post-takeover, as against $51 million in 2021.
