From being the first Punjabi artist to give a power-packed performance at Coachella, to now featuring in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Diljit Dosanjh has made an indelible mark on the global stage. From his stunning music to fine acting to dapper fashion sense, this Punjabi pop star is successfully winning hearts globally while promoting his ongoing Dil-Luminati tour.

Joining a guest lineup including Hollywood luminaries such as Eddie Murphy, Kevin Costner, and Matty Matheson from “The Bear,” Dosanjh’s presence at The Tonight Show marks a significant moment for Punjabi music on the international stage. Given the prestige attached to this legacy show and the record global viewership that Late Night television commands, this could bring Diljit a whole new audience from around the globe. 

Many personalities from the film, music and creator industry lauded the ‘G.O.A.T.’ singer by filling his post’s comments section with congratulatory messages. His Crew co-star, Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her feelings by commenting, “Ufffff🎉🎉❤️❤️!” One of his biggest fans, Ashi Khanna wrote, “Our pride 🤍🤍🤍” Celebs like Anil Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Tahira Kashyap, Mrunal Thakur, Aastha Gill, and many more also hyped Diljit up.

Suffering From Success!

Diljit Dosanjh is not new to creating history.

He got Ed Sheeran to sing his hit single, Lover on his Mathematics Tour in Mumbai in March this year.

In April 2024, he set a new record at Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium by being the first Punjabi artist to perform there during the Dil-Luminati tour.

Last year, Diljit performed for a full-house audience at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival, becoming the first Punjabi artist to perform at the festival. He announced his arrival with “Punjabi aa gaye Coachella oye,” on Instagram which went viral in no time. During his performance at Coachella, a 6-year-old Punjabi kid caught Diljit’s attention and he brought him up on the stage with him.

Acing Cinema

Diljit Dosanjh was seen serving his acting prowess in Imtiaz Ali’s musical biopic, “Amar Singh Chamkila” on Netflix, co-starring Parineeti Chopra. Next, he featured as a supporting artist in Bollywood comedy-drama “Crew,” with a stellar cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon. He also lent his voice to both the movies and his songs were chartbusters as expected.

Upcoming Projects

He dropped the trailer of Jatt & Juliet 3 alongside Canadian actress & director Neeru Bajwa on Tuesday, June 11. The franchise, known for its endearing characters and engaging storyline, has amassed a dedicated fanbase over the years. With Dosanjh and Bajwa reprising their iconic roles, anticipation for the third instalment is at an all-time high.

His co-star, Neeru Bajwa, praised him at the trailer launch saying, “Everything that he has done for the generation, even for the kids who have faced racism, for me and everybody…I had attended his show once and the feeling cannot be put in words. Seeing him grow, I get emotional. He is our rockstar, our superstar, and we love him.”

Apart from this, a sequel to “No Entry” starring Diljit and Yami Gautam is also in the works. Produced by Ramesh Taurani, the franchise is set to return with double the comedy, drama, and dhamaal. In another major announcement, Dosanjh and Prabhas have joined hands for the first song from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ – ‘Bhairava Anthem.’ The promo of the song was released yesterday, garnering massive social media buzz.

On a desi note, the global pop star has also been spotted collaborating with multiple content creators on social media. Prajakta Koli a.k.a MostlySane dropped a picture with him on her Instagram which got all the fans buzzing with excitement. Could this be a hint at a ‘Real Talk‘ video? Let’s wait and watch!

Dosanjh also collaborated with content creator Yuvraj Dua, where they are seen discussing life problems. The duo realise the solution to all problems is “Punjabi Gaane” as they burst into Jatt & Juliet 3‘s song. Recently, the music sensation appeared on Raj Shamani‘s podcast “Figuring Out” as well. They have a heart-to-heart conversation showcasing a candid side of Diljit.
