Facebook (now Meta) is introducing Privacy Center with the aim to educate people about their privacy options thereby making it easier for them to understand how Meta collects and uses information. Let’s have a look at the Privacy Centre in detail.
In the Privacy Centre users can read Meta’s Data Policy, and learn how to use all the privacy and security controls which it offers. Currently, Privacy Centre is available to some users using Facebook on their desktop and Meta will begin rolling it out to more people and apps in the coming months.
“We’ve built a number of privacy and security controls across our apps and technologies over the years, and our goal is for Privacy Center to serve as a hub for those controls and privacy education.” says Meta in their newsroom.
The present version of Privacy Centre has five modules each of which contains guides and controls related to a common privacy topic. The following are the topics as stated by Meta:
Users who have access to this initial launch can find Privacy Center by going to Settings and Privacy on the Facebook desktop version. With the expansion underway, Meta will be adding more ways to access Privacy Center in places where users may have privacy concerns.
