Amazon Alexa, simply known as Alexa, is an AI based virtual assistant developed by Amazon. Its first recorded use was in the Amazon Echo smart speaker and the Amazon Dot (Amazon Studio and Amazon Tap speakers developed by Amazon Lab126).
Alexa is capable of “voice interaction, music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audiobooks, and providing weather, traffic, sports, and other real-time information” basically everything that your personal assistant can do and more! (if there is no power cut!) . All you have to say is “ALEXA!” followed by command and your job is done.
While the features of Alexa keep on adding up and continue to impress us, one question has definitely crossed our and in fact everyone’s mind. Who is the voice behind Alexa? Well, think no more because we finally know who she is!
Author Brad Stone, in his book `Amazon Unbound: Jeff Bezos and the Invention of a Global Empire` has revealed the identity of the person who gave voice to Amazon’s Alexa assistant.
The woman behind Alexa is drum rolls….. Nina Rolle.
Nina Rolle is a Colorado-based voice actress and singer. According to reports, “Rolle, a litany of big-name clients she’s done voice-over work for are listed, including Honda, Chase, Lockheed Martin, Jenny Craig, Turner Classic Movies and Nationwide, it does not mention Amazon anywhere.“
After this revelation, neither Nina Rolle nor Amazon has confirmed the claims. But the author Brad Stone remains sure about his claims.
