Kvizzing with the Comedians is currently the biggest online quizzing tournament in the country. The entire tournament is an ode to the quizzing culture prevailing in our country for decades. The name KVizzing is a punny mention to its quizmaster Kumar Varun popularly known as KV.
Kumar Varun who is famously known for his role as ‘Failure’ in the 2017 A!B sketch “Honest Engineering Campus Placements” hosts the quiz on his Youtube channel Random Chikibum. The channel in itself is jointly run by him and his fellow comic colleague Rahul Subramanian.
The tournament in itself is a magnum opus featuring acclaimed comedians, sketch artists, actors, and writers from all across the country as participants. Spectators can watch the live ticketed version of the show by purchasing tickets on insider.in. Or simply watch the complete highlights on Random Chikibum (Youtube) where each episode premieres at a two/three day interval.
So far there have been 5 editions of the show (with a 6th one being developed) namely:
Majorly the quiz follows an 8-4-1 format i.e.
8 Quarter Finals: Top 2 performers proceed to the Semis
4 Semi Finals: Top performer proceeds to the Finale
1 Finale
(The number of matches may differ as per the number of participants in each edition)
There are about 20 questions in each round. +10 points for every correct answer and +5 points if answered while taking a hint. There is also a provision for part points whose call lies directly with the quizmaster as “Quiz Master is GOD” Delightful, informative and entertaining the quiz show is a must watch for all quizzing enthusiasts and for everyone who wishes to broaden their repertoire of knowledge.
