According to Meta News, Instagram has announced that all video uploads will now become Reels, whether a user wants them to or not, while they have also added a range of new creative tools for Reels as it doubles, and triples down on the short video format.
This change is in bringing all video clips into the Reels feed.
The broader concept would be that as more people watch Reels, more content can only be beneficial for engagement, while it should also mean more views on your clips, as they’ll be surfaced within that stream.
In addition to this, Instagram’s also adding a range of new creative tools for Reels clips
Instagram is expanding our tools for Remix to help enhance the way you tell stories on Instagram when collaborating with your favorite creators and friends, including:
Templates: Need a little inspiration? Templates allow you to create reels by preloading audio and clip placeholders easily, so you can add your own photos or video clips. You can find template ideas by tapping the camera icon on the Reels tab.
Dual: Record content and your reaction at the same time. You can record using your phone’s front and back cameras simultaneously to share another perspective using the Dual feature in the Instagram camera.
Adam Mosseri also shared about the updates on Instagram. They are always working on ways to improve the user’s experience.
