Filmy Fellow Festival a first-of-its-kind is a unique initiative by Filmy Fellow Studioz that aimed at empowering upcoming filmmakers from various film schools in India.  The festival kicked off on September 2022 and was attended by power-packed judges such as Johnny Lever, Rajeev Masand, Karan Anshuman, Mansi Darbar, Adhir Bhat and Kubra Sait.

Rajshri Ponnappa, a prominent figure in the Southern Film Industry, founded the Filmy Fellow Festival, with the vision to provide a platform for emerging filmmakers.

Filmy Fellow Studioz YouTube channel will host these, which will then be promoted at upcoming film festivals and other media partners.

Film schools from across the country sent their entries out of which 4 had been shortlisted for the final screening.  The 4 film schools in this event were MET Institute of Mass Media, Mumbai, St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, National Institute Of Design, Ahmedabad and The Institute of Creative Excellence, Mumbai.  

The event was judged by Johnny Lever, Rajeev Masand, Karan Anshuman, Mansi Darbar Adhir Bhatt and Kubra Sait at the Mumbai premiere at Soho House. The film that stood out was Fair in Love and War directed by Shantanu Kuila and Cinematographer Rushi Mankar from The Institute of Creative Excellence, Mumbai

In 2023, the second edition will be held with an even wider pool of talents and judges.
