The ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 has been the talk of the whole world as the top teams battle it out for the coveted cup. While India was about to take on Netherlands in the final game of the league stage, the official broadcaster provided a substantial clue about a potential high-profile performer at the closing ceremony in Ahmedabad. Fans began speculating about the involvement of the Albanian sensation Dua Lipa in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 after she was observed responding to questions from World Cup stars.

Dua Lipa is currently promoting her latest single ‘Houdini’, for which she has seemingly joined hands with Star Sports securing a spotlight ahead of the World Cup 2023’s last league game. During the segment, Dua Lipa was seen answering questions asked by ace Indian cricketers including KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Kane Williamson. When asked if she follows the sport, the pop star said that she rarely watched cricket. But then came the big reveal – Dua mentioned that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is her favourite player to watch!

There had been no news about Star Sports, the BCCI, or the ICC roping in Dua Lipa. So her appearance made huge waves among the fans. Nevertheless, neither the BCCI nor the ICC has issued any official statement regarding the closing ceremony of the World Cup 2023. The finals are all set to take place at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19. It is, hence, yet to be seen if the audience will be graced by a spectacular performance by Dua Lipa at the end of this massive tournament.

Earlier, Arijit Singh performed during the India vs Pakistan clash on Oct 15 last month at the same venue. Reports suggest that lineups of artists might increase as soon as team India confirms their final spot after defeating New Zealand in the semi-final at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
